Benevento

The presentation of the MoviMenti Project, supported with the Otto per Mille Funds of the Waldensian Church, was held on March 27th at the Cesvolab headquarters in Benevento, in the presence of Maria Cristina Aceto,
Cesvolab director, Daniele Romano, Fisch Campania manager, Giuseppe Gallo of Social Lab76 and the representatives of the La Clessidra Onlus association. The meeting in which the beneficiaries of the project participated was an important opportunity for reflection on mental disability and the stigma that people affected by these pathologies often suffer from. The MoviMenti project was born from a proposal shared between the Social Lab76 Cooperative and the La Clessidra Association with the aim of structuring a path of social inclusion through sport. “With the creation of both team and individual recreational-sports courses – stated Giuseppe Gallo, representative of the social cooperative Social Lab76 – we aim to help the beneficiaries to
improve one’s ability to adapt, to learn to face new situations positively, to improve and refine some praxis-motor skills, to develop one’s autonomy, starting from specific situations inherent to the sports practiced, gradually learning to generalize these acquisitions and transfer them even in daily life, with the aim of increasing one’s self-esteem.
Hence the presentation of the Project which will last one year: “The planned sports courses are intended for people with mental health problems and normally able-bodied peers (“partner athletes”). The “partner athletes” will encourage their teammates with discomfort to acquire technical gestures through natural imitation mechanisms, making it easier for them
in the acquisition of game patterns, they encourage them to be as involved as possible.
In addition to sporting activities in the gym, other social activities will also be programmed, such as “Urban Trekking” excursions. Urban Trekking is a form of “gentle physical activity”, suitable for everyone
all ages and all seasons. The proposed itineraries will start from the center of the municipalities identified in the province of Benevento and will develop following extemporaneous stages where the relevant Pro Loco will tell the history of the places. The planned routes will be clearly accessible to all.
Furthermore, during the project, one of our social animators, together with the volunteers, will take care of structuring extra-sports socialization activities, trying to also involve the users’ family members.
All sporting activities will include moments of common meeting aimed at developing the psycho-motor and social dimension of the beneficiaries. In preparation for this activity, both short theoretical activities and initial physical preparation prepared by the sports operators are planned.”
