An eagerly awaited concert after a month’s stop due to technical and organizational problems, the music returns tonight, Friday 29 March, at the 67 Jazz Club in Varese. On stage the Canova Trio, formed by Elisa Marangon, Roberta Brighi and Massimiliano Salina.
The appointment is at 9pm at the headquarters in via San Francesco d’Assisi 26: also as a pianist, as well as a singer, there will be Elisa Marangon, accompanied by the bassist Roberta Brighi and the drummer Massimiliano Salina (entry 10 euros, reservations welcome at no. 335-8208969).
The Trio was born from a meeting of friends in Canova, ancient bmedieval village of the Ossola Valleya few years ago, from which a CD entitled “Agata”released at the end of 2022 (also with the contribution of trumpeter Fulvio Sigurtà).
In the album, which will naturally be the main theme of the evening, in addition to the original compositions of Elisa Marangon, one of which was written with Roberta Brighi and one by Massimiliano Salina, there are reinterpretations of songs by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Wayne Shorter, Bill Evans, Enrico Pieranunzi, Dave Castle and Ewan Svensson.
Next appointment with the 67 Jazz Club Varese and Varese Vive next Friday, April 5th, with the duo formed by Andrea Sabatino (trumpet) and Vince Abbracciante (accordion).
