Manfredonia returns to victory, beating Nardò 1-0 at Miramare: salvation one step away

Heart and character for the Biancocelesti, who redeemed the last two consecutive defeats against the big name Nardò by obtaining a luxury victory, fundamental for the purposes of the standings and for achieving mathematical salvation.

Cinque finds Babaj and 4-3-3 with Konate at the center of defense and Forte moved to the outside right; confidence from the 1st minute for Cicerelli, supported in midfield by the “joker” De Vito.

The match opens with an unrealistic shot by Gentile from the edge, which doesn’t worry Paduano, but from the other end Carbonaro goes down into the area, but for the referee there is no reason for a penalty.

Nardò is an experienced team and plays well, so in the 8th minute there is the borderline Ferreira-Gentile combination with the latter’s shot, Paduano deflects it for a corner. From a corner, the ball goes to De Giorgi who controls and shoots, but Paduano is still the protagonist with a great save, which takes the ball away from the goal.

The Biancoceleste’s response came in the 13th minute: Babaj’s cross from the right, a spectacular scissors kick from Calemme and the ball deflected into a corner by Viola. That would have been a fantastic goal!

Donia continues to attack with Giacobbe, who tries from the edge of the area, finding Viola attentive in the response to the ground. Nardò creates danger with Simone D’Anna, who on the half hour has the golden ball at his feet but his shot goes wide and in the 41st minute he finishes high from inside the area.

Immediate flicker at the start of the second half from Ferreira, to which however a gigantic Paduano responds by closing the shot.

Manfredonia puts heart, determination and soul into it, they want to win this match and in the 14th minute they take the lead: Giacobbe under high pressure recovers the ball and serves Carbonaro, who dribbles past his opponent and finishes in the corner where Viola cannot reach.

With the advantage gained, the Sipontini try to manage by starting on the counterattack, the stakes are too high to risk; so while Nardò tries to exploit Addae’s physicality, Mister Cinque brings in an extra defender (Spina) so as not to risk anything until the last of the 7 minutes of added time allowed, which expired at the final whistle which he knows is liberation.
