The President of the Upi Basilicata Piero Marrese expresses pride and satisfaction for the result obtained by Alfonso Stigliani, 18 years old, the student from Matera who was awarded the title of Standard Bearer of the Italian Republic by President Mattarella. ”Not only is it news that makes us happy because it concerns a young Lucanian – explains Marrese – but also because the path that led Alfonso to tell his story in a book “Un giorno mi dirai”, created under the guidance of his professor-tutor Emilio Salierno is the result of the “Training” project of the UPI, Union of the Provinces of Basilicata, co-financed by the Youth Province Action program coordinated by the Union of the Provinces of Italy which promotes interventions for youth policies. An initiative, that of the UPI, coordinated by the project manager Pasquale Salerno, which promotes concrete actions to combat youth hardship”. The book is a passionate story of Alfonso’s personal experience following family events and Covid.
The result was a publication presented at the Turin book fair and in various schools. A format was created, proposed to various schools, with which listening workshops (coop.soc.Promozione 80), craftsmanship (Oltre l’arte), music (Cosmopoli) and theater (Ensemble Teatro Insabile) were held. This allowed the construction of groups in which young people socialized and experimented, putting their skills to the test.
”We are close to the community, the young people, their talents and their needs so that beautiful stories can become an example for everyone” concludes Marrese.
