Day of passions, emotions and memories to celebrate the 40 years of the first rally in the Etruscan city. This evening at 7pm in the Cordella room, friends, collaborators, sponsors, pilots and navigators who experienced the 17 editions of the most important road motoring event in Polesine in the second half of the Eighties and early Nineties will meet again. Guests will be the Italian champion Manuel Sossella and the reigning Italian champion Matteo Luise from Adria in the historic car category and the latter’s legendary Fiat Ritmo, faithful companion of many successes, will be on display. Furthermore, models of rally cars made with Lego bricks by Aldo Borgato will be on display.

The initiative is promoted by RadioPaneRally, another idea by Massimo Barbujani. “40 years have passed – recalls Bobo – since the presentation of the rally at the Roma cinema in Viale Maddalena, where Italo Salvetti, president of the Ferrari club, and Arnaldo Cavallari presented the first edition of the rally. I like to point out that Arnaldo brought a certain Cesare Fiorio as a guest. Our city has written memorable pages in the national history of this sport. In this spirit – concludes Barbujani – we want to celebrate those unforgettable moments”.

Born in 1975, born and resident in Noventa Vicentina, Manuel Sossella has won the most important rallies on the Italian scene: it won the Irc International rally cup championship for 3 consecutive years and won the Italian Wrc World rally car championship. There are around thirty overall victories and over 60 class victories, with overall and class podiums reaching almost 90 placings.

A first taste of the 40th celebrations was had in the locality of Corcrevà on the initiative of the Erika bar which has been the “den” of rally drivers for decades and where the “Mad people for the rally” have recently sprung up. Thus the first car rally of historic, modern and sports cars from the world of rallying was organised. And the eyes of many fans shone as they admired the cars that marked unforgettable moments: from the Lancia HF to the Opel Ascona, from the Delta to the Ritmo and many others.

“It was a beautiful event – comments Gabriele Sarto, patron of the event and who hosted the exhibition in his own farm – We have seen once again how much the passion for rallying is rooted in our community, Likewise, many people came from outside, even from far away, confirming that the name of Adria is inextricably linked to the rally”. And he concludes: “We will definitely do it again.”
