Second victory in two days for Apuania Carrara. The league leaders, after beating Il Circolo Prato 2010 4-0 last night, repeated their results this morning at the Avenza Palasport with a 4-1 win over Marcozzi Cagliari, in advance of the sixth and penultimate return day of the men’s A1 series, refereed by Luca Mariotti.

Andrej Gacina clearly won the first two partials against Federico Vallino Costassa, who fought in the third and managed to halve the distance to the advantages. When the game resumed, however, the Croatian regained control of the operations and maintained it until the end.

Mihai Bobocica easily beat the Chinese Sun Shiyu and in the third singles Jorge Campos confirmed himself as the no. 1 of the Sardinian team, putting Lubomir Pistej on the ropes. The Cuban took the lead 2-0, with a very long second set won at the play-off points, and the Slovakian with a great reaction overcame it. Everything was decided in the open, in which the Marcozzi standard bearer changed sides at 5-2 and preserved the margin, obtaining three match points (10-7) and taking advantage of the last one.

Bobocica, in the re-edition of the quarterfinals of the recent Molfetta Championships, prevailed over Vallino Costassa and Gacina had no problems in the first two fractions against Campos, who in turn prevailed without worries in the third. Upon returning to the table, the home favorite went back to grinding out the game and closed the score.

In the standings, Apuania Carrara leads with 18 points, ahead of Top Spin Messina WatchesTogether with 11, Marcozzi and Tennistavolo Norbello with 9, Polisportiva Bagnolese Panino LAB with 7, Circolo Prato 2010 with 4 and GG Teamwear Sant’Espedito Napoli with 2. TT Norbello, Il Circolo Prato 2010 and Sant’Espedito have two games less and Top Spin Messina, Marcozzi and Bagnolese have three less.
