A unique opportunity designed for girls and boys aged 10 to 17 interested in the fascinating worlds of gaming and comics. It will be held in Borgo Giustoon the hills of the Lucca hinterland, the first Lucca Comics & Games summer camp.

From Sunday 30 June to Saturday 6 July50 kids will have a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in workshops and activities inspired by the great pop culture festival. For the participants, in addition to the usual sporting activities that distinguish the Experience Summer Camps, many workshops, gaming activities, guests and previews of the community event, which will be held in Lucca from 30 October to 3 November.

The project was born from the collaboration between Lucca Crea and Experience Summer Camp, a leading company in the sector, which has been organizing summer camps for almost 40 years, under the patronage of Toscana Promozione Turistica.

At the heart of the experience lies the Manga comics workshop, created in collaboration with the Lucca Manga School, designed to stimulate creativity and planning, offering the opportunity to explore the dynamics behind the creation of a story. Through the laboratory, conducted by Riccardo Pieruccini, the very young talents will have the opportunity to hone their narrative skills, learn to construct effective dialogues and tell stories through images. Furthermore, great importance will be given to the acquisition of specific techniques and group work, fundamental elements for artistic growth.

Lucca Comics & Games means experiencing stories at 360 degrees and video games are one of its chosen worlds: for this reason, thanks to the support of Nintendo, participants will have the opportunity to learn about Pikmin, alien creatures that invite us to reflect on respect for the environment, its fruits and its inhabitants. Plus, lots of breathtaking challenges to major Nintendo Switch titles including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Nintendo Switch Sports.

But Lucca Comics & Games is also about living your passions, telling them and sharing them, which is why it will be present as guest and teacher one of the best known and appreciated creators: Giulia Uda known as Grimilde’s Mirror. This laboratory, like a journey between animation and digital, is dedicated to discovery, curiosity and the magic that hides simultaneously in the world of cinema and in the world of social media. Young creators will be guided through a process of research and selection of information, offering practical tools to communicate effectively, both through writing and through the use of images, allowing everyone to express and talk about their interests in an authentic and engaging way. A distinctive element of this experience will be the creation of a personal diary where each child will be able to transcribe the discoveries made during research and personal reflections, thus developing the children’s attention to detail, research, discovery and curiosity. The laboratory will then continue by fueling creativity with the analysis of the archetypes of fairy tales and animation through audiovisual media. The creation and writing of a character according to cinematographic techniques will be the last stage of this journey between imagination and curiosity.

Registrations are officially open while places are filled. For more information and to know all the details of the Lucca Comics & Games Summer Camp click here.
