Monza. Highwaymen, the Local Police have identified three since the beginning of the year. No discount, complaints are triggered. Negligent personal injury, escape and failure to help: crackdown, against those who flee after an accident, from the headquarters in via Marsala. The first episode dates back to February 19th when, at 2 pm, in via Mentana corner of via Castelfidardo, a young man leaving school 14 years old resident in Senago, while crossing the roadway, was hit by a car. The driver of the vehicle did not stop disappearing towards the city centre.
The officers set out on his trail, with the support of the Scientific Investigations Unit of the Local Police of Milan, and after a month, they managed to track the vehicle and locate the driver. It would be one young woman, born in 2004, resident in the province of Monza and Brianzainvited to the command offices in via Marsala, was investigated at large for the crimes of negligent injury and failure to stop and failure to provide assistance following a road accident.
The second episodeMarch 11that approximately 09.45 am, in viale dei Tigli at the intersection with viale Cavriga – inside the Monza Park, a motorist caused the a cyclist falls and, without providing any data, he fled the scene of the accident. Thanks to the contribution of witnesses and surveillance cameras, he was identified and summoned by the local police, admitting the crime and being investigated at large.
The last case yesterday, March 27at approximately 08.05 am, in via Libertà at the intersection with via Correggio: a young motorist hit another vehicle, causing injury to one of the passengers. Again, later a brief verbal exchange, she left without providing any data. The car was identified thanks to witnesses and the alleged perpetrator of the accident was identified.
Three perpetrators identified for three crimesall referred to the Judicial Authority: an operational result – to satisfy the constant demand for safety of citizens – which fits precisely into the specific competences in the field of road traffic of the Local Police and this within the directives issued several times by the in 2017 by the Ministry of the Interior, then agreed in 2020 with ANCI and therefore also included in the provisions issued by the Prefecture of Monza and Brianza (Coordinated Territorial Control Plan).
