In addition to the Good Friday Procession in the center of Marsala tomorrow, March 29, three other processions will take place on the north and south sides of the city, that of the Addolorata in Strasatti and the Via Crucis in San Leonardo and the Via Crucis in Birgi Vecchi.

Procession of Sorrows Strasatti – From 4.30 pm until the needs cease, the following prohibitions and limitations are in place:
The ban on vehicular movement in the SS. 115 Mazara-Marsala, stretch between Piazza Fiera Strasatti and the traffic light intersection corresponding to Via Fornara, in the phase of exit of the religious procession from the Church as well as in the subsequent phase of return at the end of the event.

A one-way traffic system has been established in the following streets, with direction permitted in the same direction of travel as the religious procession and consequent prohibition of access in the opposite direction, in order to allow safe movement: Via Fornara, stretch between the SS 115 and the Via Bue Morto; Via Bue Morto, stretch between Via Fornara and the roundabout located in Contrada Cuore di Gesù, from which the road connecting to the SS 115 departs; Via Cuore di Gesù, which connects with the SS 115, a stretch between Via Cuore di Gesù and Via Fornara, with direction permitted from the first to the second;

The aforementioned limitation will remain in force for the entire time the procession remains in the individual reference streets, along the itinerary summarized below: exit at 4.30 pm from the parish church “Maria SS. Addolorata” by C.da Strasatti and transit
along the SS.115 – c.da Strasatti, turn right onto via Fornara until the intersection with Via Bue Morto, turn left to join the latter, which will be followed until the roundabout on via Cuore di Gesù , with a subsequent turn left up to the SS 115 and entering the latter in the direction of Piazza Fiera, walking around the square and returning around 10.00 pm to the parish church “Maria SS. Addolorata” by C.da Strasatti.

During the movement of the procession, in the individual sections of road crossed by it, vehicular traffic will be suspended or limited based on the indications of the traffic officers; The religious procession, under the responsibility of the event promoter, during the entire itinerary must keep well within the right lane of the roadway and must ensure the protection of the intersections indicated by the Municipal Police.

Via Crucis – San Leonardo and Via Crucis Birgi Vecchi – Both religious processions will be preceded and followed by two volunteer vehicles to protect the safety of the participants.
