Two decided to withdraw their candidacy before the decisive meeting, after a constructive and collaborative exchange of ideas.

Sandro Poli has always been close to the civic world very well known in the city, after graduating from the mining institute he graduated in mechanical engineering. He worked for a long time in the mines of the area, before moving on to manage Agip’s exploration platforms in Italy and abroad. Subsequently he directed the operations of an important Italian-Egyptian company of which he was also a member of the board of directors. He also led scientific and technological research activities on behalf of Agip, collaborating with prestigious national universities and as a teacher of training courses. Having returned to Massa Marittima in 2009, he became involved in the cultural, associative and social world, becoming president of the Rotary Club, president of the Falusi Institute, of the polyphonic choir of Santa Barbara, rector of the Società dei Terzieri Massetani, currently representative of the province of Grosseto for Historical Re-enactments. It was unanimously decided to create a collaboration with the Fare association, rooted and present in the municipal territory, fighting for the restoration of the Colline Metallifere socio-health district and for the strengthening of the local hospital, asking it to provide a trio of names from which to choose the future mayoral candidate. About twenty days ago you expressed yourself with the three names. In recent weeks two of the candidates, with a sense of responsibility, have taken a step back, thus avoiding splits, arriving at the name of Sandro Poli. Italia Viva, Forza Italia and Lega – conclude the local coordinators– they immediately declared that they converged on a candidacy that we consider important. We hope that as soon as possible the other political forces, once the necessary procedures have been completed, can converge on Poli’s name to create a strong and united candidacy, with which to present an alternative political project to the current Massa majority and, above all, a winning one”.
