The City Council, chaired by Sebastiano Anastasi, met this morning for question time. During the session, seven questions relating to the competence of various municipal departments were presented to the administration, present with the mayor Enrico Trantino and the council.
The questions
The deputy mayor Paolo La Greca and the councilors Alessandro Porto, Giuseppe Marletta, Bruno Brucchieri and Salvo Tomarchio responded on the various topics. These are the questions: “News regarding the book heritage of decommissioned libraries”, presented by councilor Gianina Ciancio; “Traffic problems in via Santa Sofia and precisely in the area in front of the emergency room of the Catania Polyclinic Hospital”, councilor Giovanni Curia and members of the third permanent council commission; “Procedures for the disposal of public residential building assets”, councilor Erio Buceti and members of the X permanent council commission; “Plans for the elimination of architectural barriers in the Municipality of Catania”, councilor Maurizio Caserta; “Villa Curia – Request for information regarding the responsibility for the maintenance of the historic building of collective interest included in the heritage of the Municipality of Catania, currently in an advanced state of degradation, and its definitive intended use”, councilor Orazio Grasso; “SCMC – Catania Metropolitan City Services, councilor Antony Manara; “Spread of polluting substances in the drainage canal that runs along the SS.114, in the Pantano D’Arci district near the Industrial Area of Catania”, councilor Graziano Bonaccorsi, presented in the chamber by councilor Gianina Ciancio. The question “Application extends to 31.03.2024 of LR n.8 of 2018 art.63 co. 2”, by councilor Maurizio Mirenda was postponed due to the inability of the proposer to participate in the Assembly.
Four motions approved
As part of the city council meeting on March 26, the civic assembly approved these motions yesterday in a continuation session: “Creation of the Playa exhibition center for the promotion of tourism. Local economic development and urban redevelopment in Catania”, the first signatory was the Forza Italia – Berlusconi group leader Piermaria Capuana;
“Home education service proposal”, to guarantee the right to study even in cases such as stays at home due to illness, signed by the councilors Alessandro Campisi and Erika Bonaccorsi; “Port System Authority – Exhibition of Port Regulatory Plan”, signed by the group leader Orazio Grasso and the members of the Mpa group, for a path of information and political discussion for a merger of integration of the city’s planning with the Port body and with other entities involved; “Urgent interventions on public housing properties” to guarantee safety and decorum, presented by councilor Maurizio Mirenda.
