This morning the city of Forlì paid homage to Unieuro after winning the Italian Cup, with the trophy on display in the Municipality. “Forlì is the city of basketball and it’s a beautiful story – he said Mayor Gianluca Zattini – and today we celebrate those who allow our citizens to spend hours of joy, fun and emotion. In the future we will do major beautification work on your home which is the sports hall.”

Captain Daniele Cinciarini he underlined: “This award is the fruit of the company’s excellent work, but we haven’t done anything yet. There is still a bitter taste in the mouth from last year’s final: there is a cohesive and close-knit group and we know that now the most difficult moment will come with the play-offs. We all have just one goal, but I’m not saying this out of superstition.”

Also at the reception was the red and white management led by the president Giancarlo Nicosanti: “Without the work of the Foundation’s members we wouldn’t be here to achieve success in a national competition. As usual for those who don’t win it, the Cup means nothing, but then two out of four teams changed coaches after the semi-finals, so obviously something counts… Last year with the flood we went through very hard times for the city and as a Foundation we very willingly donated the proceeds of a match. It was our way of trying to stay close to those in need and I thank the staff who contributed to the donation. Today we are here to celebrate the Cup victory and a big round of applause goes to the players and everyone who works behind the scenes. Now I hope to see a full stadium for the play-offs, the team deserves it.”

For the technical staff, word to the coach instead Antimo Martino: “Being here gives us the awareness of having done something important, but as a coach my attention is entirely on a season to be completed in the best possible way”.

Final with applause and good luck for the play-offs for a Unieuro that wants to be a protagonist in the championship all the way.
