“Perspectives of the Emergency System”: this is the theme of the national conference which will take place in Catania on 28 March from 9am to 1pm at the Palazzo della Cultura on the occasion of the 32 years since the establishment of the 118 emergency emergency service in Italy. The event is promoted by Seus in synergy with the Presidency of the Sicilian Region and the Regional Health Department and with the patronage of the Metropolitan City of Catania and the Municipality of Catania.
Riccardo Castro, president of Seus 118, will introduce the proceedings. Speeches are expected from the president of the Region Renato Schifani and the regional health councilor Giovanna Volo and greetings from Gaetano Galvagno (president of the ARS), Enrico Trantino (mayor of Catania), Salvo Pogliese (senator) and Giuseppe Laccoto (president of the VI Ars Commission). The work will be moderated by Giovanni Finocchiaro, editor of the newspaper “La Sicilia”.
During the event, the speech of Alberto Zoli (former general director of Areu Lombardia) is also expected, the data relating to the 118 activity in Sicily will be illustrated and the discussion will focus in particular on two major themes. The first is the one on “Intensive and sub-intensive therapy in relation to the territorial emergency-urgency network” with the interventions of Salvatore Iacolino (general manager of Strategic Planning of the Department of Health of the Sicilian Region), Agostino Massimo Geraci (Director ” DEA” of the Arnas Civico of Palermo), Giuseppe Misuraca (director of the Operations Center of 118 CL-EN-AG), Beniamino Susi (vice president of SIMEU) and Gaetano Satullo (Scientific Manager of the IMA Network in Sicily).
The second topic covered will be the “Single Emergency Number 112 in relation to the Territorial Operations Centers and the numbers 116117 and 118” with interventions by Isabella Bartoli (director of Operations Center 118 CT-RG-SR), Alessio Lubrani (director of NUE 112 Region Toscana), Angelo Giupponi (president “HEMS Association”), Andrea Andreucci (president SIIET), Filippo Arfaioli (SISMAX) and Daniele Orletti (president COES Italia).
