The national committee for the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the death of maestro Giacomo Puccini is carrying out a project aimed at school students in Lucca, of all levels. The project You at the theater, meeting Giacomo Puccinicreated by the association School and Freedomled by the president Professor Donatella Buonriposi, will begin on April 30th, with an inauguration at the Puccini theater in Torre del Lago.

The first show will start at 9.30 and the second at 11.30 and will last approximately one hour. The project will continue on May 6th at the Teatro Alfieri in Castelnuovo Garfagnana and on May 7th at the Teatro del Giglio in Lucca with the same times.

The national committee offers the most famous opera by maestro Puccini free of charge to all schools, La Boheme. The direction is entrusted to another great master: the director Grischa Asagaroff. Puccini’s music, in a rido version and arranged for 15 instruments, is assigned to the famous musician Alexander Krampe. The Camerata Fiorentina will perform the opera, directed by Simonetta Tancredi.

“A great cultural and educational opportunity, not to be missed, which we intend to give to our children – explain the promoters -. Teachers are responding with great enthusiasm. The most important theaters in the province will be lively and filled with many young people. In fact, we believe that young people should appropriate and re-appropriate the opera that often speaks specifically to them. La Boheme is a perfect example of this. Six young artists who live in poverty, in an old house, are in a frantic search for their freedom and love”.
