The Capaci oil produced from the olive trees planted in Palermo arrives in the dioceses of Molise. The men of the Palermo police station delivered three vials to the bishops of the province of Campobasso. The extra virgin olive oil was made with olives harvested from trees located along the A29 motorway, near the area of the mafia attack in which Giovanni Falcone and his wife Francesca Morvillo lost their lives with the men of the escort, the police officers Antonio Montinaro, Rocco Dicillo and Vito Schifani.
The initiative, promoted by the Palermo State Police and the “Quarto Savona 15” Association, involved all the Police Headquarters and Dioceses of Italy. Capaci Oil will be consecrated on the occasion of the religious celebrations scheduled for Holy Week, so as to be used for the administration of the sacraments.
Meanwhile, yesterday afternoon, the Bishop of the Diocese of Termoli-Larino, Monsignor De Luca, who received one of the vials, held the solemn Chrism mass with all the priests of Lower Molise. During the Eucharistic concelebration, animated by the diocesan choir, the rite of the consecration of the Holy Chrism with the blessing of the oils for the catechumens and the sick.
The Bishop then handed over to the parish priests and chaplains of the “San Timoteo” hospital in Termoli and the “Mother Teresa of Calcutta” hospice in Larino the oils which will be presented to the communities in the “Coena Domini” Mass on Holy Thursday.
