L’AQUILA – The new regional council has been proclaimed with 31 elected members, including the reconfirmed president, Marco Marsilio, of FdI, at the head of the centre-right coalition, and the defeated candidate of the broad camp Luciano D’Amico, with the definitive results, even if official negotiations have yet to begin, the composition of the Council is looming.
The latest update concerns Forza Italia and you see Antonio Zaffiri the second most voted on the list, surpassing Paolo Cilli of 17 preferences, and the hypothesis of reconfirmation as President of the Regional Council thus seems more concrete Lorenzo Sospiri, re-elected with 8,822 preferences.
This would be the first reconfirmation in the name of that “continuity” so desired by Marsilio, which could coincide with the desire not to let another strong man from the center-right enter the council.
At that point a council could enter Roberto Santangelo, the fifth most voted overall in the regional elections, with 9,600 votes, vice president of the outgoing regional council, as well as president of the L’Aquila municipal council.
In addition to Santangelo and Sospiri, Forza Italia could express the undersecretary with Daniele D’Amario, regional councilor for Productive Activities, Tourism and Cultural Activities, re-elected in the Chieti constituency with 5,408 votes. However, the group leader remains outside Mauro Febbowhich got 4,105 votes.
Always in the name of continuity, the outgoing League councilor from L’Aquila Emanuele Imprudentere-elected with 7,034 votes, should retain the delegation to Agriculture, taking into account that the Northern League will have to be satisfied with just one department, compared to 4 in the previous legislature, where the Salvinians had 10 councillors, a contingent then halved by the transfers to Fi and Fdi .
On the Brothers of Italy front, taking for granted the entries of the preference record holder with 11,748 votes, the Marsican Mario Quaglierioutgoing regional budget councilor, and the former mayor of San Salvo Tiziana Magnaccawhich received 9,617 votes, the hypothesis of a Department for Umberto D’Annuntiis, outgoing undersecretary, re-elected with 7,407 votes, replacing Paolo Gatti, returned to the Council with 10,867 votes, who was already a councilor for Forza Italia al Lavoro e Sociale, at the time of Gianni Chiodi.
With this composition of the Council, the sixth place would go, again by Marsilio’s will, to the one who was not re-elected Nicoletta Verì, former health councilor, elected in 2019 with the League and then left shortly before the elections to run on the Marsilio list for president.
An appointment which, together with that of Magnacca, would lead to the entry of two women into the Council.
