For the first time, however, interviewed by Cosmopolitan USAthe former Disney darling – now an acclaimed pop star and queer icon – spoke of her love for the Måneskin frontman, of chow they met and why they never left each other again.
How the love between Dove Cameron and Damiano David was born
The first time Disney princess Dove Cameron and mustachioed Damiano David met was in 2022, she revealed to Cosmopolitan. There were MTV’s Video Music Awards and both were nominated (she ended up winning). It was a fleeting encounter, but which did not go unnoticed by the Italian Don Juans: a month later he invited her to the party for the launch of the new Måneskin album. But it wasn’t the right time, she was busy.

And this time they are both single – he recently broke off his relationship with Giorgia Soleri. Damiano is a modern man, who has left aside the alpha male act (a ratty but more handsome man) and surrounds himself with good males like him: “I spent time with him and his friends and brothers, and they are incredibly sensitive, romantic, emotional, really caring”. Could it be the Italian gene? Cameron herself asks this: “I wouldn’t say that American men aren’t, but it’s something I’ve noticed particularly in Italy. A certain balance between the masculine and feminine side which is very attractive for people like me who are attracted to both men and women.” But ultimately, we are all attracted to Damiano David.
