Virzì against Micaela Ramazzotti and partner: reported for injuries and private violence. “I was attacked and hit”

The dispute over, here is the complaint. An authentic showdown is looming between director Paolo Virzì and actress Micaela Ramazzotti (forever Sonia from «Tutta la vita ante»). After the unfortunate evening on the slopes of the Aventine – without wanting to, both of them, separated, found themselves in front of the same restaurant in Rome – it’s time for stamped papers. In the morning the director showed up at the police station to record the accusation of injuries and private violence: “I was attacked and hit” he denounced in summary. A move that forces the ex-wife to defend herself.

In the afternoon, the most conciliatory statement, shared by the lawyer Grazia Volo, in which Virzì recognizes his ex-wife’s professional merits (“an actress of extraordinary talent”) and hopes to “find a way to resolve this incident”. But above all she invokes the privacy lost at the table on the evening of June 17th. So what really happened between the two? Let’s start by saying that both the director and the actress were accompanied. Virzì passed with her eldest daughter from a previous marriage, while Ramazzotti sat with her 11-year-old daughter and her new partner, the trainer Claudio Pallitto. The meeting was casual, due to the fact that they both gravitate around the climbs between Aventino and San Saba. The spark was lit when the director spoke to the little girl. A joke to melt the ice that was created following the separation that led to a deep fracture between the two.

But Pallitto reacts with an aggressive tone: “Leave her alone, mind your own business” is the sweetened summary. From here on out it’s chaos on both sides, with insults thrown like stones, cell phones thrown, dishes shattered. The dismay of those present and of the restaurant owner does not dampen the mood. The argument rages. Someone takes the images with their cell phone. The scene that would have well motivated a paparazzo is now summarized in a few pages of minutes handed over to the military who, in turn, will deposit everything to the magistrates of the Rome Prosecutor’s Office.
Could the complaint have been avoided? No according to Virzì who also complains of scratches and punches towards his daughter and who promptly attaches the emergency room report. The owner of «L’salad rich», the place that hosted the brawl, intervenes on the matter: «We had to call the police after the argument escalated. The customers, sitting at the tables, appeared annoyed and above all frightened by what was happening. A point had to be made.”

Pallitto who, from the testimonies, appears among the protagonists of the brawl could end up under investigation. But at the moment there are more unknowns than certainties. Privacy would end up being sacrificed to the reconstruction of the facts. The highest price would probably be paid by the former couple’s two children. Now, while you, Ramazzotti, prefers silence, he, Virzì, reiterates his line in the afternoon press release which, in full, reads as follows: «With regard to the unfortunate news published in the press (the news had been anticipated by Il Messaggero, ed. ) I do not wish to make any statements and I invoke the right to privacy for my entire family. I have never spoken about private matters in my professional life and I don’t want to start now. I would only like, in this painful situation, to reiterate that Micaela Ramazzotti was a very important woman for me, the mother of two of my children and an extraordinarily talented actress who starred in films that I loved very much. I trust that we will all find a way to resolve this incident.”

Will the director of «Ovosodo» (a Dickensian portrait of the Livorno suburbs) go through with his complaint? We will understand shortly.
The couple, united for almost sixteen years, separated about a year ago. Divorce meditated and shared after a very long artistic partnership celebrated in at least three films (“The Whole Life Ahead”, “The First Beautiful Thing” and “La Pazza Gioia”). Divorce only apparently without consequences.
