We, therefore, are starting to have our fill of this highly celebrated event, which seems spotless, even though it has some, but who knows why only others sell them. I’m not even that convinced – says Isella – about the related industries: we don’t see any increases in the turnover of businesses and restaurants, yet we are the next town over. As for the hotels, don’t talk to me about a providential event: the few we have in the area are filled even without Nameless; as an entrepreneur, I can testify that, often, my clients from abroad find everything full and (like a month ago, from the USA) I had to send them to stay almost in Milan because they couldn’t find anything to book here”. Complaint, Isella: «Every year, during Nameless, I find myself with the Isella area, where the campsite is, littered with beer bottles, as well as cars parked illegally. Nameless will also be an event of national resonance, everyone as beautiful and good as they want: it is an event where those who organize it earn and the Municipalities, like mine, are left with worries and inconveniences.”
Isella no longer sends word to her: «For me, as mayor, this event is making me very upset. I speak as mayor of the municipality where San Pietro al Monte is located, the next candidate for UNESCO patronage: our territory attracts tourism alone, of another type, much better than this one, capable of mostly causing damage. I don’t have anything against Nameless, anyone who appreciates it can go ahead, but please let’s say the whole truth and that is that municipalities like ours, every June, spend their citizens’ taxes to mobilize the local police and clean up where the customers of the Nameless litter. It seems correct to say it: there are critical issues, even if no one says them. It’s time to realize that, with this festival, we have a problem of public order, road safety and decorum. This is what creates the event, together with the fun of young people, of course, and the return of image, only for Annone and certainly above all for those who organize it. Nameless – for Isella – generates problems in the area and a tourism that goes to sleep at 6 in the morning and is no longer seen until 2 in the afternoon. Which induced? There are three days a year which, in the face of problems, certainly do not change the economy of a territory: tourism policies are different, they are implemented by creating services and a structural hospitality offer, enhancing the vast heritage of sporting, naturalistic and cultural in which we are rich. This attracts customers all year round, very different in quality and, speaking of related industries, with significantly greater spending capacity. Then – concludes Isella – if Federalberghi is satisfied, as declared by President Beri, they are happy: we, as a public administration, are not happy at all”.
