These do not seem to be particularly glorious times for female entrepreneurs and influencers who, more and more, see themselves unleashed against the people of the web who were nourishment and followers only a few months earlier. And so Cristina Fogazzi, known as the cynical beautician, was overwhelmed by controversy for having organized a dinner at the Pinacoteca di Brera, to launch her brand in Spain. He received various criticisms on social media for choosing that location.
Cynical beautician: “I’m not the first to use that space”
The entrepreneur chose to use the famous Milanese museum as the location for a Veralab dinner, given that her beauty products company is about to expand into Spain. Criticism poured in from social media: “How rude”, “how sad”, “an unseemly and unworthy spectacle”. The response from Angelo Crespi, director of the Pinacoteca di Brera, is ready, claiming the decision to grant the space. But also of Cynical Aesthetics who commented on the choice to give money to a private individual in the Corriere della Sera: “Here, I said to myself, they fall on the community: they will become restorations, personnel, services for those who study” And he adds. “In those same spaces a big luxury name received its guests, but I didn’t see any revolts or indignation. If instead the dinner is hosted by the Cynical Beautician, then it’s not good. This is called classism.” And then: “The problem is that I am a daughter of the people. Do I smell poor?
