But what happened? During one of her live performances Emma spoke about the European elections and the importance of exercising the right to vote. However, her speech was manipulated by some web users, who cut and decontextualized her words. In some clips, Emma appears to have said: “I didn’t go to vote because it doesn’t make any difference.”
In reality, the meaning of Emma’s speech was completely different and the singer posts the complete video where she says: “I’m very disappointed by the people who didn’t go to vote because in the meantime nothing changes.” Hence the outburst on social media where Emma also criticized the superficiality with which some people try to damage her reputation: “Understand? When you want to do these things thinking of hurting people like me, who have enormous moral dignity, you have to be really strong Otherwise you make a fool of yourself, it’s very different from what I said”, concludes the singer.
