The second season of “My Home, My Destiny” is finally here. Starting this evening, Monday 17 June, the series resumes with new episodes on Canale 5. The plot continues to follow Zeynep’s life (played by Demet Özdemir), a woman who finds herself torn between two worlds: the simple one of childhood and the luxurious one full of opportunities received in her adoptive family. The series is based on a true story and is based on the bestseller “Camdaki Kiz” written by psychologist Gülseren BudayÕcÕoglu.

During the second season, Zeynep will find herself living two parallel lives, torn between the world she was born in and the one she grew up in, when her biological mother, Sakine, comes knocking on her door again. The series was filmed in Istanbul, including locations such as Pierre Loti, the beaches of the Bosphorus, the neighborhoods of Balat and Eyüp and the coast of Shkodra, next to the Maiden’s Tower. Sold in over 70 countries around the world, “My Home, My Destiny” won an award for best screenplay at the International Izmir Festival.

The cast

The main characters of the “My Home, My Destiny” series include: Zeynep (played by Demet Özdemir). The protagonist is a woman divided between two worlds, that of childhood and the luxurious one of her adoptive family. Farouk (played by Engin Hepileri): The young man with whom Zeynep is forced to marry for reasons of interest. Sakine (played by Zuhal Gencer), Zeynep’s biological mother, who comes back into her life and forces her to live two parallel lives.

As a child, Sakine’s mother was always sick, and Sakine tried to look after her even though she was just a little girl. After the death of her mother, her father remarried and Sakine ran away from home with Bayram, her boyfriend. The couple lived in poverty, but Sakine tried to give a better life to their daughter, Gülbin. However, when Zeynep, at the age of 8, was adopted by the wealthy spouses Nermin and Ekrem, Sakine felt guilty and lost sight of her daughter. Over the course of the series, Sakine reveals her story to Zeynepand the two women find themselves living two parallel lives: the one in which Zeynep grew up and the one in which she was born.
