Dutch artist Joost Klein has been excluded from tonight’s final of the Eurovision Song Contest. The European Broadcasting Union which organizes the event has just announced it: “Swedish police have investigated a complaint lodged by a female member of the production team after an incident which occurred following her performance in the semi-final on Thursday evening. While the legal process takes its course, it would not be appropriate for him to continue to participate in the competition” reports the note published by the EBU.

The organizers are also keen to underline that what happened does not involve other artists, after the rumors about an alleged argument with the Israeli singer: “We would like to clarify that, contrary to what was reported by the media and speculation on social networks, this incident did not involve no other artists or members of the delegation.”

The EBU concludes with a warning: “We maintain a zero tolerance policy towards inappropriate behavior at our event and are committed to ensuring a safe working environment for all Contest staff. In light of this, Joost’s behavior Klein towards a team member is considered a violation of the rules of the Competition” concludes the note.

The 26-year-old singer is under investigation by the Swedish police, but is at liberty: according to what the Swedish public broadcaster Svt reported, it would be a complaint for “illegal threats” which could also be of a verbal nature, but not there are further details.
