Danger of heat: general practitioners’ decalogue against the scorching heat

With the significant increase in temperatures throughout Italy and the first bulletins on heat waves disseminated by the Ministry of Health, the danger of heat it is higher than ever and as happens every year, the most vulnerable people are at greatest risk, from the elderly to children and people with chronic diseases.

Too often, caught up in the frenzy of our daily lives, we tend to underestimate the effects of excessive heat about health and the warning signs that our stroke gives us, from swelling of the limbs to dehydration and congestion. Ten tips that the Italian Federation of General Practitioners recommends to everyone, not just those most at risk.

The decalogue against scorching heat

“For years now, in the summer we have been receiving calls from our patients for heatstroke and other problems related to rising temperatures, but we have never had to face heat like the one seen in recent days. We are very worried about the effects that the expected maximum temperatures, with temperatures perceived close to 40, may have”, they underlined Luigi Sparano And Corrado Calamaro from the Fimmg.
