Dave the Diver was released a year ago and now Mintrocket, the developer, has revealed some statistics related to the game, including the number of sales.
According to a new video, Dave the Diver has sold more than 4 million copies. In reality, the team is not sure about the exact number of units, since it does not know the physical copies sold.
What’s new in the Dave the Diver update
Jaeho Hwang, director of Dave the Diveralso thanked the partners who supported the game, including Sony and Nintendo who helped publish the game on their respective platforms.
As a reminder, the game sold over 1 million copies in its first 10 days, surpassing the 3 million mark in January 2024. It’s unclear how sales are split across platforms, but we can assume that PC accounts for the majority of sales since the Switch and PlayStation versions came later.
Furthermore, it is explained that some will be added new in the game to celebrate the first anniversary, as a small accessory for the in-game smartphone and a minigame dedicated to Cobra. To unlock it, you need to enter the code “DAVEANNIVERSARY” via your smartphone into Dave the Diver.
Then a new accessory is added which activates a hardcore mode: we will have unlimited oxygen, but at the first shot we will die. Finally, the Switch version has been optimized to improve loading times.
