Arrested for robbery after attempting a ‘blitz’ in a city gym to steal a wallet. The State Police arrested, in Forlì, a thirty-year-old Italian man, already the recipient of the Oral Warning from the Police Commissioner, for the crime of robbery. It all started with the request for help from a woman who reported having been robbed of her wallet while she was at work in a gym, where she works as a cleaner.
The woman found herself faced with the stranger who made absurd excuses to justify his presence in the gym, asking where a
fuel distributor. Getting suspicious of her strange presence, she went to check her personal effects that she had placed in the reception. This is where her nasty surprise came, she found her bag rummaged through without her wallet inside and thrown under the stairwell. The lady immediately ran outside reaching and confronting the stranger in the parking lot asking him to return her wallet.
The man defended himself by denying having committed the theft and showing that he was not in possession of the wallet, which he had thrown under a car after removing the money. The woman, certain of the man’s guilt, tried to hold him back by shouting and attracting the attention of the gym goers who did not hesitate to rush to her aid. However, the 30-year-old violently managed to escape the control of the woman and those present by fleeing into the street after climbing over a fence, but was chased by a boy who ran to the cries for help.
In the meantime, the State Police cars arrived and stopped the 30-year-old, finding him in possession of a fifty euro banknote stolen from the woman’s wallet. The man was accompanied to the police station where, after reconstructing the events, also by viewing the video surveillance cameras, he was arrested. The arrest was validated by the Judge with application of the precautionary measure of the obligation to report to the Judicial Police.
