NVIDIA Corporation, founded in 1993 by Jensen Huang, Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem, has become a giant in the field of technology, revolutionizing various industries through its innovations in hardware and software. Originally known for its high-performance graphics cards, NVIDIA has diversified its product portfolio, emerging as a leader in the artificial intelligence (AI) revolution. Over the past decade, NVIDIA has shifted focus from just GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) for gaming to advanced solutions for AI and machine learning. GPUs, thanks to their parallel architecture, are particularly well suited for performing complex calculations necessary for training AI models. With the introduction of the CUDA platform in 2006, NVIDIA enabled developers to harness the power of its GPUs for a wide range of computational applications beyond graphics rendering, paving the way for innovations in AI. The NVIDIA Tesla GPU series, specifically designed for data centers, has become a key component in research labs and companies developing AI. Deep Learning technologies, supported by NVIDIA GPUs, have accelerated significant advances in various fields, from computer vision to natural language processing to autonomous driving. NVIDIA’s exponential growth over the last decade is clearly reflected in its stock market performance. The company’s shares are currently trading at around $420 on the NASDAQ. This figure represents extraordinary growth compared to the levels of a few years ago, when the shares were valued around $20. The cryptocurrency boom, increased demand for gaming during the COVID-19 pandemic and the expansion of AI have pushed its prices to new records. Currently the semiconductor giant NVIDIA is positioned at 3.7% on Wall Street, thus overtaking Apple and Microsoft to become the most valuable company in the world with its 3,335 billion dollars.
