“I didn’t want compulsory vaccination, we suffered constant blackmail”

Giuseppe Conte, former Prime Minister and leader of the M5s, in an interview with Radio 1 accused Mario Draghi of having imposed mandatory vaccination on citizens during the Covid-19 period.

«I didn’t agree, but we were in a government in which every dissenting opinion meant, according to Draghi, that we wanted to bring down the government. We suffered continuous blackmail, we were in a government of national unity and I can be blamed for this, but I did not introduce compulsory vaccination.”

«I have always been a supporter, until I left Palazzo Chigi, of the freedom to undergo vaccines. I offered the vaccination campaign to citizens on the combination of freedom and responsibility. Then Draghi came and imposed the vaccination obligation”, he underlined

«We introduced the Superbonus in perfect order, I managed it for a few months, it brought many benefits and Giorgia Meloni refrains from listing them. The hole is not in the budget, it is in Meloni’s head and in his mistaken beliefs.”

Conte then spoke about the next European elections. «There is a lot to do in Europe. We need a government of true patriots who, when the revision of the stability pact arrives, does not accept it without a fight. Employment data has been increasing since 2021. But it must be analyzed. Poor labor is increasing. Sixty million hours of layoffs, 1 million on-call workers, 3 million part-time people who earn two lire, work little and have nothing to eat.”

Finally, a clarification on his recent definition of “infected capitalism”. «When I said that capitalism is infected, I meant that the Ligurian model is infected, but also that of Santanché is. An entrepreneur who first went on TV to insult a desperate entrepreneur and then it turns out that she is carrying out an aggravated scam on Covid funds. For the vast majority, capitalism is healthy, our capitalism, that of those who break their backs.”
