Today the meeting took place at Mimit on the Denso di San Salvo dispute. The trade unions were present. national and territorial, the RSU, the Abruzzo region, Confindustria, Anfia and officials and managers of the Ministry.

The Company illustrated through slides a poorly detailed industrial plan, which we believe to be completely insufficient, where redundancies and desaturation are highlighted which in the next 3 years would reduce the workforce from the current 834 to 635 workers. Furthermore, no investments aimed at diversification of production were specified and only verbally was the Japanese parent company’s desire to continue the activity in San Salvo confirmed together with the willingness to use the isopension tool.

In the next few days the Company will have to activate itself for the continuation of the social safety net useful for the management of work relief, in our opinion it will have to be used in a more fair way, so as to impact the workers as little as possible, for this reason in the comparison at territorial level the articulation of its use and programming will be explored in greater detail. We believe that the social safety net must be in support of a relaunch of the San Salvo production site, in addition to the necessary investments by the Company, it will require all the support from the Region, the Government and constant monitoring by MIMIT.

Fim, Fiom and Fismic express a negative opinion on today’s declarations by the Company at ministerial level and ask for a serious industrial plan to guarantee the continuity and employment of the San Salvo site.

The Ministry has already scheduled a new meeting to be held by mid-July.
