The Princess Anne73-year-old sister of king Carlo III75, and second daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II, was resignedFriday 28 June, from the hospital where she had been admitted following a domestic accident defined as not serious and occurred on Sunday afternoon, June 30th. Her husband, the retired vice admiral, confirmed this Tim Laurenceafter having taken her home.

The horse accident
Anna, a skilled rider and former Olympic equestrian, had been the victim of an accident with one of her beloved thoroughbreds at her country residence in Gatcombe Park, in Gloucestershire, England. According to the media, she had been kicked by a horse, suffering bruises and a «mild concussion», due to which she was then detained «under observation as a precaution» by doctors for five days in a ward at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
“I want to extend my warmest thanks to the staff at Southmead Hospital for the care, attention and kindness they provided to my wife during her short hospital stay,” Laurence said in a statement shared on the Windsor family’s social media pages.

The positive outcome brings relief to the royal family, already struggling in recent times with cancer diagnoses re Carlo and the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, 42 years old, wife of the heir to the throne William, 41 years old. The “Princess Royal” Anna, senior member of the dynasty, has been particularly active in recent months in the roles of representing the monarchy, amidst various gaps and withdrawals from other family members. But she missed the solemn ceremonial commitments associated with the recently concluded state visit to the United Kingdom by the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito, and Empress Consort Masako. However, she should be able to leave shortly for a delicate mission (entrusted to her by her sovereign brother, but postponed following the horse accident) in Canada: a country still institutionally linked to the British crown.
