The host’s private life was quite turbulent. From 1983 to 1988 he was married to an American psychologist Diane Zoellerwith her he had two children, Stefano and Martina. After five years, however, the divorce arrived. Later he had a long relationship with the showgirl Laura Freddi.
From 1997 to 2023, however, it is linked to Sonia Bruganelli, entrepreneur and television producer and her wife since 2002. From their love three more children were born: Silvia, Davide and Adele who was just 13 years old. Paolo Bonolis is very close to all his children and this is why during a touching interview given to very true he recounted a difficult period that also involved them.

Separating from his first wife was not at all easy for Paolo due to the distance from his children. At the time
Stefano and Martina they remained to live with their mother in the United States and were too young to understand what was happening, the host explains to Silvia Toffanin.
Unfortunately, the relationship with his two children wasn’t the best, so much so that he defined him as cold and detached. “I lost my son when he was four. I want to thank my wife who helped me build a bridge between the two families”. Fortunately, in recent years the relationship between father and son has improved considerably, as demonstrated by the many photos that Paolo himself loves to share on social media which show him together with all his children.
