The undisputed queen of Italian Sunday. In a recent interview, Mara Venier said a lot about her future on television
The statements recently released by Mara Venier to the periodical “Nuovo” are causing discussion. But they are words spoken from the heart, which, moreover, outline a depth of soul which the Venetian presenter had already given us ample display of, but which now reaches its peak. Here is the bitter reflection of the national Mara.
Or “aunt Mara”, as he likes to define himself or be called. We are talking about the undisputed lady of Italian Sunday, one of the presenters most loved by the public, not only for her long militancy on the airbut also for his ability to deal with all topics and to do so with the right state of mind: cheerfulness and lightness, but also depth and introspection, combined with tact.
We were talking about a long, very long career for Mara Venier. The beginnings as a model, at the end of the 70s, and then the first roles as an actress, in the early 80s. Some titles: “At the sports bar” (1983), “Kamikazen – Una notte a Milano” (1987) and “Pacco, dual parcel and counterpaccotto” (1993).
But it was precisely in the 1990s that his role as a television personality was born, which he consolidated over the following decades. She therefore becomes the undisputed queen of Italian Sunday with the hosting of “Domenica In” (1993-1997, 2001-2003, 2004-2006, 2013-2014 and since 2018). Now, however, our Mara is perhaps really thinking of making a point.

Moreover, in recent years, we have also discovered his beautiful family reality. She who, in the 80s, was first linked to the actor and director Jerry Calà and then to the musician Renzo Arbore. Since 28 June 2006 Venier has been married to the film producer Nicola Carraro. On social networks our Mara often shows us scenes of real life, at home with her husband, but also with her grandchildren.
And, perhaps, this also weighs heavily on the reasoning that Mara Venier made during the interview with “Nuovo”. The presenter opened her heart about future projects, she who he will turn 74 on October 20th. His is a sad, but very profound analysis, which all of us, who have been following it for decades, cannot fail to notice.
In fact, during the interview with “Nuovo”, Mara Venier has announced that she will host “Domenica In”, her creation, for another year. But, in all likelihood, this will be the last. Mara Venier will then decide to retire, after decades in front of the cameras. And she’ll do it when she’s at her peak: “I don’t want to find myself on TV with a cane” he said. Will it really be a final decision?
