Kate Middleton and William have had a scar on their temples for years: here’s what lies behind that mark.
It is not a good time for the crown of England, due to the discovery of King Charles’ illness and later that of Kate Middleton. She announced it with a video message, after a few weeks of absence from royal duties. Following a long series of rumors and suppositions – which spoke not only of her state of health but also of an alleged ongoing crisis with her husband – he decided to break the silence.
The Princess of Wales then began, as advised by her doctors, a course of preventive chemotherapy. Since she has completely absented herself from public life, there has not been much news about her condition. William, in the various outings, has let loose a few words, explaining that his wife ‘is fine’.
But there are no exhaustive updates on this matter. Recently, however, the prince, in a new visit, revealed an interesting detail that no one was aware of, namely a detail he has in common with his wife.

Maybe not everyone noticed but William has had a scar on his left temple for years. In the past he had the opportunity to explain the reason for this sign, saying that it is the consequence of an accident on the golf courses: “I just remember me and my friend on the green and then a 7 iron coming from I don’t know where and hitting me in the head. It’s just like Harry Potter’s scar, sometimes it turns red and is more noticeable, other times you don’t see it at all.”
Recently the prince, during a visit to the sustainable start-up Notpla – which deals with sustainable packaging – returned to talking about the matter, as he told People Pierre Paslier, the founder of the company. The latter in fact revealed that he had shown a golf shirt to William and asked him if he liked playing: “He, pointing to the scar, he replied smiling ‘no golf for me’”.
But it will be a pure coincidence that also Kate has the same mark on her left temple. The Daily Mail he made it known that the princess’s scar is about 7 centimeters long and it would be the ‘seam’ of an intervention that she suffered as a child.
Surgeon John Scurr, interviewed by the English newspaper, said that it could be due to an operation to remove an arteriovenous malformation. Unlike William, however, Middleton’s wound is less visible, given that the latter often keeps her hair down and keeps it well hidden.
