Gigi D’Agostinoguest for the first time of Silvia Toffanin to “very true“, he retraced his long career, also talking about the break due to the illness that struck him.

How Gigi D’Agostino’s career began

On ‘Verissimo’, Gigi D’Agostino spoke about how his career as a deejay began: “The passion for music did not begin at a specific moment. I enrolled in a dance school, then the love for the world of DJs was born in the disco“.

The story continued like this: “I started working at birthday parties, then some record company started calling me after 8-9 years”.

Gigi D’Agostino and the disease

The “captain of dance music” Gigi D’Agostino also recounted his ordeal caused by a serious health problem that has kept him away from the scene since 2021: “When these things happen to you, pain takes away everything else. Your mind gets cloudy, in the morning you just wait for the evening to arrive so you can suffer less: it’s not life“.

To Silvia Toffanin, who asked him if he is still afraid, even though the most complicated period is behind him, Gigi D’Agostino replied: “When you see that darkness you don’t even know what could happen to you tomorrow. Fear never goes awayeven if you’re better it can’t disappear: it’s there every second.”

To ‘Verissimo’, Gigi D’Agostino also said: “In 1998 I experienced terrible things in my life that I would like not to remember. This year three of my successes written at the time turn 25 years old. Let’s talk about a love story ended with consequences in the courts”.

The return to the console and the show in Sanremo

On 17 December 2017, Gigi D’Agostino announced on social media that he was suffering from a “serious illness” which had “affected him aggressively” and which gave him “constant pain”. The deejay had not specified what pathology it was.

Last Tuesday 2 January, the artistic director and presenter of the Sanremo Festival 2024 Amadeus surprisingly announced Gigi D’Agostino as super guest for the evening of Friday 9 February. The deejay performed from the Costa Smeralda cruise ship.

On ‘Verissimo’, the deejay also spoke about the sensations he is feeling in view of the return to the console in June in Milanafter more than 4 years of absence: “I’m very excitedalso because during the bad moments I thought about when I would resonate. Music is strength, the more I play the more I get. It’s magical.”
