“The damned ones again.” Albano Carrisi he is sincerely saddened by what happened on Friday evening in Moscow, the attack on Crocus City Hall claimed by terroristsIsis-K which resulted in the deaths of 140 people.
Interviewed by Peoplethe crooner from Cellino San Marco who in the former Soviet Empire still enjoys the status of beloved rock star obtained during the Cold War but who after the invasion of Ukraine decided to “freeze” all relationships with Vladimir Putin he reflects bitterly on the situation in Russia, from Islamic terrorism to the responsibilities of the Kremlin.

The Crocus City Hall, the concert hall on the outskirts of the capital, is a special place for Al Bano, “of the heart”, since between the 17 and 19 October 2013 it was on that stage that a real event was celebrated, the artistic reunion with his ex-wife Romina Power, after 17 years of distance. Thanks to the very powerful manager Andrei Agapovwhich had organized three concerts for the occasion.

“How could I forget? Hearing this news and seeing those images is painful. Also because I love the Russian people, and I would like it to be written in capital letters. Do you know who did it?”, asks the Apulian singer, reached by the journalist of weekly in Spain, a few hours after the attack. The answer, as we know, is: Isis. “Those damned ones again… There is little that can be done: war brings guerrilla warfare, more disorder, more terror.”
“On other occasions I had the opportunity to sing in that large and magical room”, recalls Carrisi with emotion. It seems that Putin himself was also there to see him and Romina 11 years ago. “I never believed it. For security reasons he practically never leaves the Palace. I’ve been there and I know those dynamics very well. My position is very clear – he continues seriously -: until peace returns, I will not return to singing in Russia. When he comes back, and he will come back, I will be happy to do a great concert for peace in Red Square. For the rest, I work anyway and I have already known poverty as a boy.”
