Stellantis: layoffs or go to France, the proposal in Cassino – News

Un offer to go and work abroad, more precisely in France. This is what was proposed to some employees of the plant Stellantis to Cassino. According to reports Turin News, it was offered to assembly and body shop workers a temporary transfer to the Peugeot factory in Sochaux, plant in which, after the end of production of the endothermic 3008, the focus will be on the electric one. Stellantis’ proposal to Cassino workers provides full salary and a daily increase of 130 euros for food and accommodation for the unusual “trip”.

The employees of the press and plastic department, however, were offered a transfer to Mirafiori or Sevel, factory responsible for the production of vans in Val di Sangro. This is when Cassino, a plant where Alfa Romeo and Maserati models are produced, is preparing for a new layoff. The proposal to work away is attributable to the strong internal reorganization promoted by the CEO of Stellantis, Carlos Tavares, to improve the production efficiency of the group.

If on one hand the production of the Stellantis group’s models is taking on a different geography – just to give some examples, the new Fiat Panda will see the light in Serbia, while the 600X is produced in Tychy, Poland, like its “cousin” Alfa Romeo Junior – on the other hand the shift of resources evidently also concerns the workforce . Which in the case of the Cassino plant, is sent on “transfer” during layoffs, in exchange for a full salary.
