Trieste is the sixth most expensive city in Italy

TRIESTE – Trieste is the sixth most expensive city in Italy: this is what emerges from the ranking based on Istat data on April inflation and drawn up by the National Consumers Union. The Julian capital is thus in the top ten of the most expensive cities in Italy in terms of increase in the cost of living, not only of the regional capital cities or municipalities with more than 150 thousand inhabitants but of all the cities monitored by Istat . At the top of the ranking is Venice, where inflation of 1.9 percent, the highest in Italy ex aequo with Siena and Brindisi, translates into the greatest additional expenditure on an annual basis, equivalent on average to 501 euros for a Venetian family.

Siena follows, with an annual expenditure increase of 485 per family, and the bronze medal goes to Parma and Rimini, which with +1.6 percent have an additional expenditure of 435 euros per year for an average family. Slightly off the podium Milan (+1.4 percent, equal to 400 euros), then Florence (+1.5 percent, +392 euros), in sixth place Trieste (+1.6 percent, +391 euros ), then Padua (+1.5 percent, +386 euros), eighth Benevento with the second highest inflation in Italy, +1.8 percent equal to +385 euros, then Arezzo (+1.5 percent , +383 euros). Naples closes the top ten (+1.7 percent, +375 euros), third in Italy in terms of inflation.

In the ranking of the most virtuous cities in Italy, 3 of the 8 cities that are in deflation win: Aosta, Imperia and Caserta. At the top of the ranking of the most “expensive” regions is Veneto, which records an average burden of 324 euros per family on an annual basis. Followed by Tuscany and Emilia Romagna. The best regions are Valle d’Aosta, Molise and Abruzzo, the only ones experiencing deflation.
