On Thursday 9 May 2024 the Ministry of Economy and Finance placed a Annual BOT.

In detail, the Bank of Italy has communicated that in the auction of BOT expiring on May 14, 2025 (ISIN code IT0005595605) all the securities offered by the Ministry of Economy and Finance were placed (the total amount was 7.5 billion euros).

The question was discreet, based on requests for 10.12 billion euros. Consequently, the coverage ratio (ratio between the amount requested and the quantity offered) was 1.35, in line with the annual BOT auction in mid-April.

The gross allotment yield was set at 3.546%, which equates to a hammer price of 96.53. According to Assiom Forex calculations the net yield of the BOT in question is equal to 2.935%.

In the previous annual BOT auction of April 2024 the yield on the securities had been set at 3.533%. On that occasion the requests amounted to 10.64 billion euros, out of an amount offered of 8 billion.

The annual BOT regulation expiring in May 2025 is set for Tuesday 14 May 2024.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance recalled that BOTs for 7.7 billion euros will expire on 14 May 2024, all relating to the annual maturity.

The total of BOTs in circulation as of 14 May 2024 is equal to 130,332,512,000 euros.
