Three months before his 90th birthday, Giorgio Armani does not rule out changes for his group once he is no longer in charge: an aggregation with a competing brand or a listing on the stock exchange.
“Independence from large groups could still be a value for the Group in the future, but I don’t feel like ruling anything out,” Armani told Bloomberg. Armani, which controls almost all of Giorgio Armani Spa, does not even close the door to a possible IPO: “The listing is something we have not yet discussed, but it is an option that could be taken into consideration, hopefully in a distant future”.

“What has always characterized the success of my work is the ability to adapt to changing times” says Armani. “I do not currently foresee an acquisition by a large luxury conglomerate,” he wrote in a series of responses to questions from Bloomberg. “But, as I said, I don’t want to rule anything out a priori, because that would be an ‘unentrepreneurial’ way of acting”
