Yesterday evening, in the setting of the Rizzoli Gallery, in the heart of Milan, in the presence of a large and participating audience, the presentation of the volume “La cultura del noi” took place, published by Mondadori Electa and written by the journalist Letizia Magnani. The story of a world, that of Orogel, made of passion and effort, tradition and at the same time innovation, good food and agricultural collaboration. The protagonists of the story are the women and men who contributed to making the Romagna cooperative the first producer of frozen vegetables in Italy, together with the respect and love for the land that saw it born over 50 years ago, with the careful selection and management of raw materials, with the utmost attention to quality, with a business vision oriented towards the future but still firmly rooted in its peasant roots.

Through the story of Bruno Piraccini, one of the founders of Orogel and still president, and of the people who gravitate around the company, the volume narrates a success story that began in 1967 starting from a dream that over the years became first a mission and then a goal: to bring to the table of Italians the wonders offered by nature, skilfully preserved and protected from the cold. The meeting saw the journalist and author of the book Letizia Magnani dialogue with the journalist Massimo Borgnis, director of the weekly magazine CHI, together with the president, special guest, who expressed pride and satisfaction for this initiative, strongly desired to give the right and dutiful recognition of an important history of the territory, and beyond.

“The creation of a cooperative requires a relationship of trust together with the strength of sharing, which is not a calculation but a necessity that arises spontaneously in people who want to build something important and which they cannot do alone, collaboration is needed. – he wanted to highlight Piraccini – Feeling, sharing, participating, is a lifeblood that circulates within the system, and this should be the case not only in the cooperative one, but in any company”.

And the title itself “The culture of us” is its expression, as commented by the author herself who was invited to motivate her choice – “Orogel is a large family, where the culture of us is its strength. It was a privilege to tell this story in which the characteristic trait is the big heart that distinguishes it, an iron work ethic and an ability to do business, known by all. Remembering a company in its evolution, and this is what it was, and it is the task of these books. “The culture of us” is part of Orogel’s DNA based essentially on the shared principle of work and collective commitment, aware of how cohesion, solidarity and the ability to build collective wealth are the keys to achieving and maintaining excellence.

“Working well is good – if we want to operate in a system this is the path, doing good and doing well. It is the spirit of us that makes us achieve incredible results, a spirit that pervades everyone, because in each of us there is an Orogel – concluded the President – for the first time thanks to the book we can reread a path where on every page there is a novel to be written, made up of people, feelings, passions. Which is why it has great value for us, also because it highlights a history that is a heritage for agriculture and to which we are called, and especially the new generations, to give continuity, responding to modern needs. Without neglecting that we wanted to pay homage to all those who have given their contribution to this success story.”

Letizia Magnani then wanted to clarify – “Orogel fully represents the concrete grounding of sustainability for the territory, a typically Romagna way of being, as demonstrated during the flood, it is the demonstration that it is a value that must be watered continuously , an ethical inspiration and a way of being, because doing business means building value. Orogel is an open door, a horizontal company history, with responsible management, a great capacity for vision, and the future was always present in every meeting with Bruno”.

The event was therefore about sharing and telling a story, not presenting a book. A story of people who have done something important, a symbolic reality firmly rooted in the territory, in traditions but very modern, born with an eye always turned to the future, and which has done good for the territory, as underlined by the host Borgnis himself.
