The Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria has published the notice addressed to publishing houses that wish to submit proposals for the organization of literary events and meetings with the author on the occasion of the Second Edition of “Metropolitan Narrations – Book and Reading Festival” which will be held next September.

Specifically, the organization intends to «acquire expressions of interest in order to identify subjects with proven management and organizational skills in the publishing field and able to propose literary events with authors of local, national or international importance, in order to offer a qualified opportunity for in-depth study on editorial news, but also on literature, history and science, to enrich the 360-degree cultural debate”.

«It is a great opportunity for our territory», commented the delegated councilor for Culture, Filippo Quartuccio, underlining «the importance of the “Metropolitan Narrations” Festival which, last year, enjoyed strong success among the public and critics thanks to the organization of 12 events with some of the major authors on the national literary scene”.

«This year – he continued – the Metropolitan City has set itself the objective of developing moments of reflection and cultural growth by imagining readings and debates capable of involving writers of local, national and international fame. For this, I thank the manager Giuseppina Attanasio and all the staff of Sector 2 for the precious work they carry out on a daily basis in the interest of the organization and the community.”

«What we are aiming for – concluded councilor Quartuccio – responds to a precise and coherent programmatic choice of the mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà who, only last month, saw Reggio Calabria and its metropolitan territory play a leading role at the International Book Fair of Turin. That experience showed us the rightness of the path undertaken, convinced that only culture can act as a lever for the development of our communities. With this new initiative, therefore, we continue to place all our trust in the publishing sector, a sector that is particularly close to our hearts.”

Applications for participation, together with all documentation, must be submitted no later than 12:00 on July 3rd in PDF format to the address: [email protected]. Any further detail is, however, easily traceable on the official web page of the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria.
