Maxi operation by the Postal Police against online child pornography. Nine people were arrested in flagrante delicto, while 26 others are under investigation for possession and dissemination of child pornography. The searches, carried out nationwide, led to seizure of thousands of illegal files, including the digital book “Pedophile’s Guide”. The investigations, started by the analysis of electronic devices seized from a suspect already previously arrested for similar crimes, made it possible to discover the existence of online groups dedicated to the exchange of gruesome images and videos, which also included abuse of young children . The seized material is currently being examined by the Catania District Attorney’s Office and the Postal Police, who are conducting further investigative investigations to identify young victims of abuse and rebuild the network of people involved.

The operation, conducted by the Cyber ​​Security Operations Center of the Postal Police of Catania with the collaboration of the Cyber ​​Security Operations Centers of the Postal Police in various cities, led to personal and computer searches, with the seizure of thousands of files containing horrifying images and videos, with abuse even of very young children. Inside a messaging platform, groups dedicated to exchanging gruesome images and videos had been discovered. Meticulous technical investigations led to the identification of the subjects active in the groups, and the Catania District Attorney’s Office issued personal and computer search orders against them.
