The 2024 edition of Corpo.doc took place in the spirit of the fantastic in an unusual location, The Circus of the Moon, a tent immersed in a forest in San Giovanni Teatino (Ch). An unconventional choice, but full of references to performance history (which it is not wrong to trace back to the world of the circus), an environment full of contradictions where artists of all kinds used their bodies to amaze and impress the public. An edition in which even the title contributed to increasing the fairy atmosphere. «Bibbidi-Body-dy-Boo, do the Performance whatever you want» mimics the song that accompanies one of the most beautiful fairy tales animated by Walt Disney: «Cinderella», where the replacement of the words body and performance with bobbidi and magic has generated a overlap Between the magic that everything “can” and artas imagined by Ivan D’Albertocurator of the exhibition, thanks also to a immersive installation.
What has been experienced is a real one experience where on the one hand the aspect of the marvelous has become synonymous with a refined sense of lightness and on the other the same has led to a political rereading of the figure of Cinderella. In the «document» section we saw Luigi Presicce’s work «Deriso», a durational performance focused on theme of mockery of Christ compared with that of the clown. In «horizons» the performative installation intervention «Demoniaco» by Tommaso Buldini with music by Riccardo Frisari And Andrea Guerrini and the performance of Rachele Montoro «Astrology matters but don’t trust people with the same Venus, they wanna catch you». In the external environments of the circus the cosplayers Daniela Fascioli And Gianluca Di Virgilio they wore clothes inspired by Disney classics, while Antonio Antonini with «Ardentia» he created an action halfway between the apotropaic ritual and the acrobatics of the Fire Eaters. In the «community» section the collaborations with the Municipality of San Giovanni Teatino (Ch), Il Circo della Luna, the Pescarabruzzo Foundation, B&B | Casa Zen, Ico corrugated cardboard industry, Cilli advertising, Fine Arts & Crafts, Trattoria Il Volante, Studio Magia | Abruzzesistica, Spazio Sei, Mystic Driver Art Lab, Art Agency | art consultancy, Liceo Artistico Musicale e Choreutico «MiBe» of Pescara. Body is now also a book. The volume signed by Ivan D’Alberto, published by postmedia books (Milan 2024), reconstructs the history of the festival from 2015 to 2024.
