The presentation of the book “Balkan Football Club”, written by the author Gianni J Galleri and published by Bottega Errante Edizioni, will take place on Friday 24 May at 6.00 pm at the Booq neighborhood library in Via Santa Teresa (Piazza Kalsa). The event represents an important opportunity to explore the intricate interconnections between football and political dynamics in one of the most fascinating and complex regions in Europe.
The book, the result of years of research and passion, offers an in-depth analysis of how football has influenced and been influenced by politics in the Balkans. Through anecdotes, exclusive interviews and rigorous historical analysis, the author guides readers on a journey that reveals how football events have often reflected the region’s political hopes and tensions.
The presentation and debate will be moderated by the journalist and expert on the Balkans, Marco Siragusa (Meridiano 13). The event is part of the calendar of initiatives planned by the Mediterranean Antiracist Palermo 2024 and will be a unique opportunity to delve into highly relevant topics, discovering unpublished stories and discussing the role of football as a mirror of society.
