Romance, Novel, Cinema, Art, Publishing, Information, Lightness. There are 7 sections of the Turin Book Fair, from 9 to 13 May (salonelibro.it). Each entrusted to an expert: romance is “in the hands” of Erin Doomwhich will address the great theme of feelings with writers such as Mercedes Ron, Rokia and Hazel Riley. While Alessandro Pipernocurator of the novel section and author of the new beautiful, will invite male and female authors – Claudia Durastanti, Domenico Starnone, Sandro Veronesi – to talk about their approach to reading.

At the Book Fair: from cinema to lightness

Salman Rushdie arrives

Breaking news is the arrival at the Salone Salman Rushdie, the author of Midnight’s Children (Booker Prize in 1981) and who received a fatwa – a death sentence – in 1989 for The Satanic Verses, arrives at the Salone on Friday 10 May at 6.30pm. With Roberto Saviano will present his latest book: Knife. Imaginary life

Imaginary life is the theme of this edition, from the title of one of the most beautiful books by Natalia Ginzburg (Einaudi): that creative drive that becomes a possible map for the future. The poster is by Sara Colaone (Pordenone, 1970)illustrator and comic book author – Her most recent graphic novels are Georgia O’Keeffe, Amazon of modern artcreated with Luca de Santis on the occasion of the major exhibition at the Center Pompidou Paris in 2021 and the adaptation of The Baron in the Trees by Italo Calvino in 2023.

Italian authors and the writers’ forest
