On the occasion of the May of Books, talks and workshops to rediscover the pleasure of books and reading
From Saturday 4 to Thursday 29 May, almost every week we will meet for the last appointments foreseen by the project Reading Without Wallsorganized by the Link Aps association.
The project aims to spread reading through the creation of a community of readers capable of acting as multipliers and promoters of the beauty and importance of reading, from an early age. The book and reading aloud represent the means to mend social ties in the Altamura community, pretexts to create moments and opportunities for meeting and socializing between citizens.
Among the initiatives envisaged by the project is the creation of a rich calendar of events, thanks to which the community will have the opportunity to meet and dialogue with important personalities from the world of literature.
On the occasion of the May of Books we have created a truly eclectic calendar of activities, presentations and workshops. Guests of the very rich calendar will be: Cristina Busani and Alessandra Baschieri of the Equilibri publishing house, the author Silvia Vecchini, the Zabar association, Elisa Mantoni of Artebambini Puglia section and Elena Germinario of Marluna Teatro, Elvira Zaccagnino of Edizioni La Meridiana, Antonella Agnoli among the leading experts in Italy in the management and organization of libraries.
Below are the details of the appointments:
- 4 May 10.00 -13.00 – 15.00 -18.00 | Workshop “Let’s play with books by reading game books”, edited by Cristina Busani and Alessandra Baschieri of Equilibri. You can register for the workshop by filling out the following Google Form on the project’s website or social pages.
- 9 May 6.30pm | Talk with the author Silvia Vecchini “Words can do everything”.
- 11 May 9.00 – 18.00 | Workshops “Operation Manicucite”, edited by Zabar aps.
- May 17th 6.30pm | Animated reading with shadow theatre “Journey through the enchanted cities” curated by Elisa Mantoni of Artebambini Puglia section and Elena Germinario of Marluna Teatro.
- May 18th 9.30am-1.30pm and 3.00pm – 7.00pm | Workshops “Kamishibai and shadow theatre” edited by Elisa Mantoni of Artebambini Puglia section.
- May 24th 6.00pm | Talk with Elvira Zaccagnino of Edizioni La Meridiana “Reading is an accessible pleasure. The Equal Readers project”.
- May 29th 6.30pm | Talk on the new function of libraries with Antonella Agnoli “Everyone’s home”.
All meetings will take place in the Agorateca – Community Library (via Stefano Lorusso 1) and are open to all citizens. The appointments are among the events scheduled by Reading Without Walls, a project of Municipality of Altamura, winner of the tender Cepell “City that reads”.
