The new appointment of the literary festival “Bagli Narranti”, organized by the “Misiliscemi” Association with the collaboration of the Municipality and the Ubik Bookshop of Erice, will take place on Saturday 18 May, starting at 6 pm, at the Agriturismo Vultaggio, which will feature the journalist from Potenza Mariagrazia Zaccagnino, author of the book “Sono io Elisa Claps” – In the unpublished diaries, dreams and hopes of an interrupted life.

Elisa Claps, thirty years after her death, returns to speak through her diaries: unpublished pages that are finally revealed. She was 16 years old when she was killed in the Church of the Holy Trinity in the city center of Potenza. She was on September 12, 1993, but her remains were found only 17 years later. In all that time, many believed it was a case of voluntary removal. The Claps family never believed this version, continuing to fight to get to her killer and the truth about her. Having archived the judicial trials and the historical reconstructions which will remain partial forever, today Elisa regains her space and tells us about her thoughts, her relationship with her friends, her faith in God and her ambitions, in a constant dialogue with the author and with mother Filomena. The book has an afterword by Gildo Claps.

Both the author and the family are called into schools to talk about a story that also has many implications on an educational and social level, and in memory of Elisa, of her dream of becoming a doctor, the Claps family has announced the construction of a clinic doctor in Africa who will bear his name. Mariagrazia Zaccagnino’s copyright is donated for this project.

Journalist Jana Cardinale will converse with the author. The readings will be by professor Antonella Scaduto. The program includes musical interludes by Enrica Vultaggio and Gianfranco Bertino. Entrance is free.
