The new volume of the now more than thirty-year series of publications edited by the will be presented at Palazzo Farnese Piacenza Committee of the Institute for the History of the Italian Risorgimento. In fact, the reports presented in November during the conference entitled “Heritage and memories of the Piacenza Risorgimento” held at Palazzo Rota Pisaroni were collected. These are therefore the documents of the first meeting held after the death of the president Corrado Sforza Fogliani who has always been its animator and supporter, since Piacenza Committee of the Instituteone of the five national historical institutes, which deals with the promotion of studies on the Risorgimento and the “long nineteenth century”, from the age of revolutions to the First World War.

The reports presented to the public who filled the hall of honor of the palace granted by the Piacenza and Vigevano Foundation addressed various aspects of the entire period and now become available for in-depth reading. The documents, presented by the director of the Committee, Pietro Coppellialso contain the memory of the lawyer Sforza Fogliani, created on the occasion of the conference by Cesare Zilocchi, who for years was his right-hand man in the management of the Committee. The presentation will be held at the Risorgimento Museum, whose supervision is entrusted to the Committee, which also holds ownership of most of the documents on display; thus, at the end of the presentation, participants will be able to visit the museum accompanied by the members of the Committee. On this occasion, the theme of the next study conference to be held in November will also be presented, as will some new initiatives of the Committee. The appointment is for 4pm on Saturday 18 May in room number 3 of the Risorgimento Museum in Palazzo Farnese. The publication, supported thanks to the contribution of Confindustria Piacenza, will be distributed to participants.
