En.AIP Piemonte ETS – The book about Alice, created by Enaip graphic designers, on display at the Kapannone dei libri in Angera

Arrives at the Kapannone dei Libri di AngeraIn our Wonderland“, The book created by Enaip Piemonte graphics studentswhich became part of the exhibition “Of queens, hatters and white rabbits”.
It is fully one of the 100 illustrated volumes, pop-up books, bizarre objects, reproductions of iconic characters and much more that, thanks to the collaboration with Fabrizio Merletti and Paola Miglio of the Piccola Officina del Libro bookshop in Oleggio and owners of the collection, tell the story of Lewis Carrol’s novel through time.

The book was written by 16 girls from the Carlo Alberto Classical and Linguistic High School in Novara and illustrated by 16 students from Enaip Novara’s three-year graphics course, under the direction of teacher Marika Leonardi. They are the ones who presented it to the public, describing fantastic journeys, difficulties and friendships that they went through in the creation of this editorial product.

In this original version the characters speak eccentric and extravagant languages, they enter and exit the stories, they meet two stories later, even if they are perhaps not exactly the same. Forget the colors and cheerful songs of the Disney film, the “In our Wonderland” the White Rabbit no longer looks at the clock, Alice is no longer a naive little girl, the Mad Hatter has ended up in the mental hospital and the Dormouse… the Dormouse he finally got his revenge.

At the inauguration of the exhibition “Of queens, hatters and white rabbits – Alice’s world in illustrated books“, which took place on 20 April, were attended by the Director of Enaip Novara Barbara Bolchini, the owner of the location Andrea Kerbaker, the bookseller and owner of the private collection on Alice Fabrizio Merletti and Castelli di Karta, an association that processes weighed paper and which created the staging of the exhibition.
