There is all of Emilia-Romagna in the dish created by the starred chef from Piacenza Isa Mazzocchi for the book “The great chefs in a recipe”, which was presented at the Chamber of Deputies. «I am proud to have contributed to this very significant project, which enhances the resources of Emilia Romagna, a generous land extraordinarily rich in excellence. A volume that reflects Italy and the values of the land, which pass through the kitchen and the hands of the cooks, to then become recipes and dishes that have always conquered the palates of our customers”, comments the chef-owner of the “La Palta” restaurant a Michelin Guide Star 2024 in Borgonovo Val Tidone (Piacenza). «Our region expresses excellent agricultural products, as well as knowledge and artisan techniques that the world envies us and which are the calling card of the territory – he explains Diana Bortolipresident of Confagricoltura Donna Emilia Romagna – with this book we want to enhance the Emilia-Romagna material culture linked to food and culinary journeys.”

«In a world where gastronomy is placed at the forefront, too often we forget the beating heart behind every dish: agriculture. We don’t want our sector to remain a faded ghost in the background. This is why the “Confagricoltura Donna meets the Great Chefs” project was born, to enhance the close connection between agriculture and gastronomy. Nine great chefs will be our ambassadors on a journey to valorise agricultural Made in Italy, from the territory to the tables”, stated the national president of Confagricoltura Donna at the presentation of the volume, Alessandra Oddi Baglioni. The Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry also spoke, Francesco Lollobrigida, who shared his appreciation for the Confagricoltura Donna initiative with the great chefs and highlighted how the Government is working for the recognition of Italian cuisine as a UNESCO heritage site. The minister also highlighted the importance of the social commitment behind the recipe book, the proceeds of which will be used to combat violence against women, through donations to the non-profit organization “Lives without fear”.

Great chefs collaborated on the Confagricoltura Donna project in addition to Isa Mazzocchi, namely: Cristina Bowerman, Laura Colajacovo, Anna Ghisolfi, Rosanna Marziale, Valeria Raciti, Solly Tomasone, Viviana Varese and Francesca Vierucci. There was a wide participation of deputies and senators from all sides, to demonstrate the importance of the initiative of the entrepreneurs to enhance the “made in Italy” agri-food sector. Among those present the president of the Culture and Publishing Commission of the Chamber, Federico Mollicone, which highlighted the importance of innovation and research in the primary sector. For Maria Chiara Gadda, vice-president of the Agriculture Commission in the Chamber and presenter of the law on food waste, Made in Italy cannot ignore the transformation of products and that we need more agriculture in different models. Monica Ciaburro, vice-president of the Defense Commission and member of the Agriculture Commission underlined how quality and respect characterize the female role: respect for food and ingredients to provide quality cuisine. «I thank Confagricoltura Donna – said the member of the Confederal council, Nicola Cilento, present at the event – for her commitment to giving voice to female agricultural entrepreneurs. This initiative significantly enhances our agriculture and supply chains in their entirety, also adding the social aspect against gender violence with the anti-violence clementines on November 25th and also with this volume of recipes”. The entrepreneur and communicator Deborah Piovan concluded by noting the importance of communication to dispel false myths about the sector and to build alliances.”
